Mark of the Witch is a horror art zine that explores the history of witch trials in Scotland from the perspective of the witch hunter. The zine explore the effects of fear on perception of reality and how it can twist reality into something monstrous. The witch hunter tells the story of the mysterious hardships and horrors faced by people and how they have come to find the cause of such horror to be witches, evil and fearsome beings misled by the devil. They continue to tell how they lead the crusade against these beings, becoming monsters themselves in the process by their brutal persecution of innocent people that their fear has warped into something sinister.
The project is made with white pencil on black paper which was then scanned and the red and text edited in afterwards and the entire project compiled in Indesign.
